SKILLBRIDGE
NTS is a participant in the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge program, which allows active-duty service members to gain civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during their final 180 days of service. Participants receive up to 180 days of permissive duty to work with approved partners to build resumes, develop skills, and explore career opportunities.
Eligibility: Active-duty service members with at least 180 continuous days of service who are within their last 180 days of separation.
Approval Process: Requires written authorization and approval from the unit commander (field grade commander).
Duration: Up to 180 days, which can be taken as permissive duty, meaning the service member continues to receive military pay and benefits.
Opportunities: The program offers partnerships with over 3,000 public and private organizations, including roles in IT, HR, project management, and manufacturing.
Benefits: Helps bridge the gap between military and civilian life, providing hands-on training, networking, and a high likelihood of post-service employment.
